There are multiple ATM’s located inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center. One is located on the 100 Level Arch Street Entrance on the north side of the Center. Additionally, there are three (3) on the 200 Level: There is an ATM right outside Exhibition Hall A near Concierge, an ATM right outside Exhibition Hall B near the Business Center, and an ATM right outside of Exhibition Hall E.
Banks & Foreign Exchange Offices
The currency in Philadelphia is the US Dollar. Credit Cards are accepted at most (but not all) major retailers, so it is helpful to have cash for most transactions. Banking hours are Monday through Friday, typically from 08:00 to 17:00. Larger banks may also be open on Saturdays for a few hours in the morning. Currency exchange is also available at airports.

Certificates of Attendance will be emailed to all attendees after the Congress.
Philadelphia has a humid subtropical climate, influenced by where the city sits along the Delaware River and the Schuylkill River as well as due to the Appalachian Mountains to the West and the Atlantic Ocean to the East. Summers are usually very warm and humid with more rainfall than any other time of the year. The average high temperature in July is 87 degrees F (31 degrees C) and 69 degrees F (21 degrees C) for a low.

The US Dollar (USD) is the unity of currency in the United States, which comes in bills and coins.
Electrical sockets in the United States operates at a standard voltage of 120 V and a frequency of 60 Hz. The United States uses two electrical socket types: The “Type A” and “Type B”. An adapter is necessary if your appliances don’t already have these types of shapes to match the socket.

Insurance and Liability
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate insurance coverage for travel, health and accidents before they depart from their countries of residence. The ISTH as organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to private property belonging to the conference participants and accompanying persons.
The official language of the meeting is English. There is no simultaneous translation service provided.
There are many different options to get from one point to another in Philadelphia. A network of SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) buses, trolleys, and subways are readily available. An easy way to explore the city and purchase bus, trolley, or subway fare is to visit https://www.septakey.org/ to learn more about SEPTA’s reloadable, contactless chip card that can be obtained ahead of time or at a Fare Kiosk. There is also an option to purchase a single trip without having a chip card at a Fare Kiosk.
Bus, Trolley, & Subway: The base cash fare for SEPTA buses, trolleys and subways is $2.50, whereas transfers are $1.00. If you happen to have a chip card with money already loaded onto it, you can enjoy a discount of $2.00 when you tap to ride. A one-day convenience pass is available for one person for a maximum of 8 rides on transit routes for $9.00.
Philly PHLASH: The Philly PHLASH Downtown Loop is a great way to get around downtown Philadelphia, especially to explore historical attractions and cultural institutions. The bus runs from 10:00 – 18:00, every 15 minutes, daily and even has a pick-up location at the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 12th and Market St. The cost is $2.00 per person per ride or there is a $5 one-day pass available. Taxi: Philadelphia has over 1,800 licensed taxi cabs available.
Rideshare: Trips are available in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania through the Uber App and the Lyft App. We remind you to please ensure that it is your driver before getting into the vehicle.
As a courtesy to speakers and other participants, all mobile phones and pagers must be switched off when attending sessions or symposia.
As part of the CME accreditation procedures, all speakers are obligated to provide disclosure of potential conflicts of interest. On the first slide of every presentation, these disclosures must be presented. The Speaker Ready Room can assist with drafting this slide.
Please be advised that overflow rooms are available. Should any session be full, the overflow room will be activated and a hostess will direct you to that location.
The Pennsylvania Convention Center has two portable and private “Mamava” lactation suites. The units are self-contained, mobile pods with comfortable benches, an electrical outlet and a door that can be locked for privacy. The 4-foot by 8-foot pod is meant for individual use, but can fit more than one person, including mothers with infants or luggage. One is positioned near the Concierge Desk on the second level between Halls A and B and a second unit is located on the street level on the Broad and Arch Concourse.
Any form of duplication (recording, audio taping, photography and/or video) of sessions is prohibited without expressed written consent of the author and congress organizer. Please do not use your mobile device to duplicate or record any sessions.
We kindly ask that attendees DO NOT photograph, record, film, or use a cellphone to capture images of presentations at any time during the meeting, as well as on the poster and exhibit floors.
Please note that you may be photographed, videotaped and/or recorded during your visit by the official ISTH 2021 photography/video team. By entering the ISTH 2021 Congress, you agree to each of the following: 1) You consent to be photographed, filmed and/or otherwise recorded in connection with, or as part of ISTH 2021 journalistic, advertising, marketing, promotional, archival and/or security activities; 2) You consent to such photography, filming and/or recording and to any use, in any and all media throughout the world in perpetuity, without compensation to you, of your appearance, voice and/or name for the above noted purposes; 3) You understand that all photography, filming and/or recording will be done in reliance on these consents given by you by entering the congress; 4) To protect, among other things, the personal information of our attendees, you agree not to reproduce, perform, display or upload any photographs of sessions/presentations.

A pocket program is provided to participants upon registration. It is a handy reference and contains a program-at-a-glance, Congress information, a map, and other key information to take full advantage of your time at the Congress.
An all-denomination prayer room is located between the main conference halls and above the exhibition area of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Tipping is very common and is expected in the United States, especially in the restaurant industry. Below is a list of important tipping practices in the United States.
Taxis: 15% based on the final total is standard.
Restaurants: A 15% tip is standard for a sit-down restaurant, whereas for a takeout or pick-up meal a 10% tip is sufficient.
Room maids: $2 - $5 per night is very common.
